Nell is the Chief of Staff at Lowercarbon where she helps us scale our team, wrestle with big strategic questions, and support our growing portfolio of kickass companies.
Prior to joining Lowercarbon, Nell cut her teeth at a number of leading global businesses including Google, Bain Capital Ventures, and Bain & Company. Most recently, Nell worked as a consultant at Bain & Company advising Fortune 500s, including several months spent developing a go-to-market strategy for the new business line of a Fortune 10 company. Nell also spent time embedded in Bain's private equity group, conducting due diligence on nascent industries and researching the long term trends that will shape the global economy for decades to come. The urgency and opportunity of climate was impossible to look past.
Before Bain, Nell spent a year at Crooked Media working for the Pod Save America team and learning the ins and outs of life at a rocketship media startup. At Crooked, Nell drove editorial marketing and growth strategy while pitching Jon Lovett his funniest bits. Iykyk.
Nell graduated from Yale University where she received a Bachelors of Arts in History. She wrote her thesis on the 1960s co-education movement, focusing on the role of student groups, particularly at women's colleges, in lighting the movement on fire. Nell believes the humanities offer a critical framework of imagination and observation for evaluating technology.
Born and raised in New York City, you can usually find Nell roaming Brooklyn in search of her next cortado. While a proud city kid, she occasionally wanders outside the five boroughs when she trades in her stairmaster to climb all 46 of New York State’s tallest peaks in the Adirondacks. The masochism doesn’t end there. Nell also loves to run and recently placed 2nd in Brooklyn’s Prospect Park Half Marathon with a time of 1:26.
